THE EFFECT OF WORK CULTURE AND JOB CHARACTERISTICS ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE THROUGH WORK MOTIVATION AT NENE MALLOMO DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL SIDRAP REGENCY

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the impact of work culture and job characteristics on employee performance at Nene Mallomo District General Hospital. Additionally, this study aims to explore the role of work motivation as a mediator in this relationship. Thus, this research is expected to provide a deeper and more solution-oriented understanding of employee performance issues at Nene Mallomo District General Hospital, Sidrap Regency. The research method used is quantitative. The population identified consists of all employees at Nene Mallomo District General Hospital, Sidrap Regency, totaling 278 individuals in the latest data. The sampling technique employed is nonprobability sampling using accidental sampling technique. The calculation result using the slovin method indicates that the required sample size is 164 respondents. Data analysis is conducted using the path analysis model, also known as path analysis. The research findings indicate that work culture and job characteristics have a positive influence on employee work motivation at Nene Mallomo District General Hospital, Sidrap Regency. Of these two variables, job characteristics have a more dominant influence on work motivation compared to work culture. Furthermore, to enhance employee performance at the hospital, it is necessary to improve work culture, job characteristics, and work motivation. Work motivation also mediates the indirect effect of work culture and job characteristics on employee performance
