Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the individual and combined effects of internships and skills on students’ readiness to enter the workforce.

Research Design and Methodology: A quantitative research design was employed, involving 83 student respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 25.

Findings and Discussion: The results indicate that internships and skills each have a positive and statistically significant effect on students’ work readiness. When analyzed simultaneously, both variables demonstrate a strong combined influence on readiness for employment. Among the two predictors, skills emerged as the most dominant factor, emphasizing the critical role of technical competence, communication abilities, and individual responsibility in preparing students for professional work environments.

Implications: The findings suggest that active participation in internship programs and the development of relevant skills are essential strategies for enhancing students’ readiness to face the demands and challenges of the workforce. Educational institutions are therefore encouraged to strengthen internship opportunities and integrate skill-based learning into their curricula to better prepare graduates for professional careers.
